Nina Lim

London based Violinist | Performing, Recording, Arranging and Teaching

Nina currently pursues a career as a freelance violinist, showcasing her work in diverse settings. She completed both her undergraduate and master’s degrees in classical violin performance at the Guildhall School of Music and previously had a scholarship to study at the Purcell School. She is a member of the Paraorchestra, with whom she performs regularly but has also played with various other ensembles including the London Mozart Players, London Contemporary Orchestra and Chineke! Orchestra. Nina has performed at a variety prestigious venues and festivals, including the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Barbican Centre, and Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. She has taken part in events like the BBC Proms, Edinburgh International Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, and Norfolk & Norwich Festival.

Beyond the realm of classical music, Nina has performed and toured with renowned pop artists such as Michael Bublé, Little Mix, JADE, Little Simz, Sigur Rós, will.i.am, Paloma Faith, Sonique, Andrea Bocelli, and Alfie Boe. This has also included working on a variety of TV shows including the X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent, Lorraine, Michael McIntyres Big Show and Strictly Come Dancing. From the years 2021–2023, Nina toured as a violinist and backing vocalist with the critically acclaimed British indie rock band ‘Black Country, New Road’, playing venues and festivals all over the UK, Europe, Asia, and the US.

Nina is also an experienced session musician, song writer and string arranger, having arranged strings for artists including Anne Marie, Holly Humberstone, Griff, Slowthai and Black Country, New Road. She has recorded and performed violin for artists including Primal Scream, Jockstrap, Geordie Greep, Oreglo, M. T. Hadley, Liang Lawrence, Hinako Omori and many others.
